Sierra 2 Center For The Arts And Community
About Sierra 2 Center For The Arts And Community:
Sierra 2 Center for the Arts and Community managed by the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association, is a charming, vintage stucco building built in 1926 as an elementary school. Sierra 2 is located on three lushly landscaped acres in the beautiful Curtis Park neighborhood within easy reach of midtown and downtown Sacramento. Sierra Green, a neighborhood park, is adjacent to the Center.
This historic site was saved from demolition by the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association (SCNA) in 1976. SCNA's members and community volunteers contributed generous time and resources to renovate the school. Together they transformed Sierra 2 into a non-profit center of artistic, cultural and educational activities.
