Rental Sessiondate:Thursday, July 9, 2009 time:11:00 AM to 2:00 PM venue:City Kayak at South Beach Harbor address:Pier 40 The Embarcadero San Francisco, CA 94101 View mapRental Session Paddle in easy waters of San Francisco at your own pace. This rental session allows you to take a touring kayak without previous kayaking experience because we provide a life guard. The life guard will be on a motor boat patrolling the rental area, recommend where to visit, and assist you if you need help. Typical points of interest to visit are; McCovey Cove, AT&T Park, Lefty O\'Doul Draw Bridge, Mission Creek Houseboats, Bay Bridge, Cupid\'s Span, Pier 70 dry dock, The Ramp restaurant. A kayaking lesson is included. A stable touring kayak and paddling gear are provided; dry jacket, splash skirt, dry bag, life jacket, performance paddle. Typically your session looks like the following: Hour 0-1: check-in, area briefing, gear up, and paddling lesson Hour 1-2.5: paddle on the water Hour 2.5-3: return, rinse gear, and check-out Double kayaks are typically used for beginners, but single kayaks are available for advanced paddlers. Bring; change of clothes (in case you get wet), warm hat or baseball cap. Also recommended: dressing in layers waterproof pants and jacket sunglasses, sunblock contact lenses (better than prescription eye glasses) bottled water Motion Sickness Warning You will get motion sickness if you are hung over or just sensitive to motion sickness. Don\'t paddle hungry. Avoid staying up late the night before. Drink carbonated water. Antihistamine, transdermal motion sickness patch, ginger, dramamine helps some people. This session costs $49 per person. Cost below adds sales tax and online processing fee. You can avoid the online processing fee by faxing in a reservation form at least a day before: http://www.citykayak.com/Forms/trip_reservation_form.doc RESTRICTIONS Participants should weigh between 50 lbs and 200 lbs. No swimming ability is required. Children are allowed, but an adult needs to accompany a child on a double kayak. (There is no charge for children under 11 year old for this session.)
