The Little Manila Foundation presents the Ma-Yi Theater Production of  The Romance of Magno RubioStarring the 2007 New York Cast: Arthur Acuña, Bernardo Bernardo,  Ramon de Ocampo, Jojo Gonzales and Paolo MontalbanBy Lonnie Carter, with additional Tagalog text by Ralph Peña, based on  a short story by Carlos Bulosan, directed by Loy Arcenas.Don't miss the play that the New York Times called "One of the  Season's Best" and Variety called "a wondrous fable of hope,  resilience and happiness."
 
 From the Broadway stages comes the smash hit that brought New York to  its feet: The Romance of Magno Rubio. Set in the 1930s in the San  Joaquin Delta agricultural fields, and using verse, music, percussion,  dance, song and Filipino martial arts-inspired movement, the play (in  English) centers around the experiences of five Filipino immigrant  farm workers who yearn for love, friendship, and hope. Will lonely  Magno ever find true love as they follow crops and work tirelessly in  the fields?
