Support through participation is our motto and we are always seeking active new members! We currently have 97 members with 30 of them actively building or restoring aircraft. Most others are very active pilots
Those of us who are aviation minded recognize the EAA as an outstanding organization and are proud to be members. A handful of "locals" were interested enough to form Chapter #1073 a few years ago, allowing all of us to be involved. Look what happened! Our Chapter is as active and supportive of EAA principles as any other could be. The membership makes this Chapter great. We have a very wide range of talent and experience to draw on and every time a problem surfaces someone volunteers to solve it.
Young Eagles: The mission of the program is to provide young people a FREE introductory flight experience. Children between the ages of 8 and 17 are welcome and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This year we will be flying Young Eagles at the Pancake Breakfasts in April, May, June, July, August, September and October. Kids (we call them Young Eagles) should register between 8 and 8:30 a.m. All Pilots are volunteers and are not compensated in any way for this great educational experience. Pancake breakfasts are held the SECOND Saturday of each month from 8am to 10am and open to the public. For $5 it’s all you can eat including hot coffee and juice. There are usually several unique aircraft sitting on the ramp in front of the chapterhouse as many of our local members and sister chapter pilots drop in and put their planes out on display.
THIRD WEDNESDAY: General Membership Meeting 6PM: We always have a “pot luck” dinner with the meeting happening an hour later. Just bring something that we all can share in and drop it on the table as you arrive. We try to have a guest speaker to attend our monthly membership meetings and topics can vary. They are always aviation related and have proven to be very interesting and informative.
NEW First Friday FREE Flying Flix- We will be showing flying movies at the airport chapter house an aviation related movie. This is open to the public and free to all. The doors will open about 6:00 PM. Presentations from EAA, Civil Air Patrol, 99s, FAA or other airport entities may precede the movie.
