Taste of Downtown window displays are filled with creativity!

Ukiah, CA
- The tradition continues as the 22nd Annual Taste of Downtown returns to Downtown Ukiah. Presented by the Ukiah Main Street Program, the Taste of Downtown is a way for tourists and locals alike to rediscover their downtown.

In addition to the Tasting, a downtown merchant window-decorating contest was held, with participating businesses displaying products of the beverage companies they’re partnering with for the event. This year top award went to Joey’s Salon with Zina Hyde Cunningham wine pairing. Second place went to Art Center Ukiah- Corner Gallery and Milano Family Winery, and third place was awarded to Boutique 120 and their partner, Ceago Vinegarden. The winners won event tickets, Ukiah Main Street membership and grand prize winner Joey’s Salon was presented a $100 savings bond from Savings Bank of Mendocino County as well as advertising donated by the City of Ukiah Parks and Recreation Guide.

Judging the contest was Lauren McPhaul, City of Ukiah, and City Council Members Benj Thomas and Mari Rodin. Main Street would like to thank these volunteers for donating their time and expertise. McPhaul commented that “This community event brings a diverse group of people to our downtown area and showcases our local merchants along with Mendocino’s finest wineries and breweries!”

Beeler’s Muffler Shop, Park Falls Dental, the City of Ukiah, are this year’s major sponsors of the Taste of Downtown. Ukiah Main Street Program would also like to thank this year’s contributor sponsors: Rinehart Oil, Inc. and the Downtown Merchants Association. Media sponsors for this year’s event include KWINE/KMAX, Hometown Shopper and MendoLake Exchange.

Tickets or “passports” are available in advance for $25 available only through Thursday June 11th at Mendocino Bounty, located in the Ukiah Valley Conference Center at 200 S. School Street.  The day of the event you may purchase your passports for $30 at two event locations, School and Smith Streets or the Alex Thomas Plaza.
