The City of Ventura. The City of San Buenaventura is located in Southern California on the Pacific Ocean. The City of Ventura's neighbors are Oxnard, Saticoy, Santa Paula, and Santa Barbara. A full-service city, the City of Ventura operates its own Police and Fire departments, a Community Services Department, a Public Works Department and a Community Development Department. The City also has a Human Resources Department, Administrative Services Department as well as the City Manager's Department and City Attorney's Office. Ventura City Council is made up of Mayor Carl Morehouse, Deputy Mayor Christy Weir, and council members, Brian Brennan, Neil Andrews, James Monahan, Bill Fulton, and Ed Summers.
