Glory of Christmas

From: Boulder Symphony Orchestra
Join us for our annual Glory of Christmas, a musical event of worship and praise celebrating the birth of Christ.  This event includes a variety of music featuring the Chancel Choir, Salt & Light High School Choir and Bells, the FPC Worship Team, the Middle School Choir, as well as the Boulder Symphony Orchestra.

This year the Glory of Christmas concert is a benefit for the Glory Community, a local agency to the Boulder/Denver area.  “The mission of the Glory Community, a not for profit community, is to glorify God by meeting the special needs of adults with developmental disabilities and their families by providing a caring residential community in a safe, stable Christian environment. The Glory Community will foster a lifelong opportunity for vocational, social, emotional and spiritual growth; helping to maximize the resident’s full potential, self confidence, peer relationships and independence.”

The Glory of Christmas 2010 is very special this year not only because of the partnership with the Glory Community, but also because the Boulder Symphony Orchestra (formerly The Timberline Orchestra) is joining us this year.  They will feature orchestral pieces in the Glory of Christmas as well as accompany the choirs. Beginning in July 2010, the BSO has been FPC’s “in-house” orchestra, rehearsing at the church on Thursday evenings and housing concerts at the church.

The music this year has a wonderful variety, each piece reflecting the True Spirit of the Season. From classic Christmas pieces and old favorites to new styles and songs, we believe this concert provides a way to praise and worship God, who became man to dwell among us, love unconditionally, and give us eternal life. The story of Christ’s birth - the story that continues to breathe new life - is presented through the gift and beauty of music. Invite your friends, family and neighbors.  To God be the Glory!
