The Lutheran Cancer Center is hosting a kick-off event to support breast cancer patients and their families. Earlier this year, with the help of a grant from the Susan G. Komen Foundation, we surveyed 1,249 breast cancer survivors to find out what they would like to see in Lutheran’s new Survivorship Program. The results of this survey helped us create our first-ever program for breast cancer survivors, called “Unleash Your Strength.” Starting in 2010, we hope that this program will help women find a new “normal” and discover fresh energy through health and wellness, stress management and spirituality.
The CancerCenter is kicking off the “Unleash Your Strength” Breast Cancer Survivorship Program with a Free event. All breast cancer survivors are invited. Here’s the schedule:
7:30 a.m. – Registration 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Program (Keynote speaker is Lt. Governor O’Brien)
Breakfast and lunch will be served
Breast Cancer Survivors can choose two inspirational sessions from the following:
-- Meal Makeovers – Healthy Cooking for Survivors
-- Life Goes On – Thriving as a Survivor
-- Exercise – Just for You
-- Unforgettable Survivor Strategies: Tips for Managing Your Busy Life
