Free museum admission and family activities at the Colorado History Museum for Colorado Day celebration

What: History Colorado’s Colorado History Museum will offer free museum admission and free family activities to celebrate Colorado Day on August 1. Colorado will celebrate its 132nd birthday of becoming the 38th state on August 1, 1876.

When: August 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: All activities will take place at the Colorado History Museum 1300 Broadway.

Activities include:

- Plaza: Heirloom toys and games (stilts, hoop and stick, graces, yo yos, Jacob's ladders, tops)

- Lobby: Hand crafts

- Classroom C: Butter churning, cow roping, saddle riding

- Classroom D: Fur trading with mountain men reenactors, striking flint and steel

- Classroom E: Mining with gold panning

- Museum Level: Exhibits and touchcarts
