Have You Scheduled Your Ribbon Cutting?

Did you know that a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is a benefit of your DHCC membership? It doesn't matter if you've been in the same place for years or if you've just opened your doors - take advantage of this opportunity!

Ribbon cutting ceremonies are a great way to introduce your business to other members of the DHCC. These events are announced in the DHCC weekly newsletter and posted on the DHCC website calendar for all of our members and supporters to see! Get your event on the calendar today.

What do YOU need to do?

- Please submit a written notice including your event details within 14 days of the event to the Ambassadors Club (chris@delphicinfo.com). Please, no phone calls or messages as we need your request in writing to ensure accuracy.
- Within two weeks of your ceremony, we encourage you to invite neighboring business owners, business associates and friends. Invite as many people as your office, store or parking lot will hold. The most important thing is to showcase your business! The ceremony typically lasts 30 minutes and the festivities afterward can last as long as you like.
- The Chamber will invite DHCC representatives, ambassadors and/or board members to your business, along with a giant pair of scissors and a camera.

Two Frequently asked questions:

Q: What if I do not have a storefront?

A: We can host your ceremony in your office, lobby, conference room, or other open area in your office vicinity.

Q: I already had a ribbon cutting ceremony, but I opened a new store or office. Can I have another ceremony?

A: No problem. If it is a new location for you, we'll do it again!  What an excellent marketing opportunity to showcase your expansion! The DHCC will enjoy meeting your new neighbors and telling them what a great business and chamber member you are!

Note: For an even bigger impact, please check your DHCC directory for special occasion vendors for food, beverages, flowers, seating, promotional items and more.

Reservations will fill quickly! Contact your Ambassadors Club TODAY by emailing chris@delphicinfo.com.

Mark your calendars!

Wells Fargo earns $1.8 billion on record revenue; increases dividend 10%

SAN FRANCISCO -  Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC) reported diluted earnings per common share of $0.53 for second quarter 2008 compared with $0.60 in first quarter 2008 and $0.67 in second quarter 2007. Net income was $1.75 billion compared with $2.00 billion in first quarter 2008 and $2.28 billion in second quarter 2007. The Company also announced a quarterly common stock dividend of 34 cents per share, up 10 percent from the previous dividend of 31 cents per share.

"Wells Fargo continued to strengthen its franchise during the second quarter," said President and CEO John Stumpf. "Earnings per share were 14 cents below that of last year due to $2.3 billion of higher provision expense, including a credit reserve build of $1.5 billion (30 cents per share). We were able to lend more to current customers where we believed it was prudent and properly priced. We grew core deposits while reducing funding costs. We achieved record cross-sell results with our retail and commercial customers - a testament to our relationship-based strategy and our 160,000 team members who serve our customers. We are open for business and getting lots of it. We also continued to benefit from opportunities in this environment to gain new business and customers through selective acquisitions. We maintained a strong balance sheet and, for the 21st consecutive year, increased our dividend. We're still affected by the weak economy, but we believe we're one of the best positioned in financial services to grow through this adversity and to build an even stronger company for our team members, customers, communities and shareholders."
