About Eaton United Methodist Church
Our name is officially Amanda K. Alger Memorial United Methodist Church but as you can see, that is quite a long way to say which church you belong to. So, most people around here just refer to us as Eaton, UMC.
A Little History
The first services at the Amanda K. Alger Memorial United Methodist Church were conducted by Rev. O. L.. Orton on May 1, 1901. The land,
donated by B. J. Eaton, is the original site of the church. The current church building was constructed in 1921.
Today
Eaton UMC currently holds two services – a contemporary service on Saturday evening and a traditional service on Sundays. Our choir sings at the traditional service two times per month and the children’s choir lifts their voices once every month.
Bible study is coming soon. Pastor Phil is trying to get this organized and we’ll probably be studying things like women in the Bible, the Ark of the Covenant, Holy Grail, Pentecost, as well as other Old and New Testament books. We might also do some concentrated study on the Book of Acts.
Eaton Youth, The Way
Projects, devotional time, and connecting with other UM youth groups through events like Youth Leadership Conference and Up With Youth are just a few of the activities in which UMYF participates.
Our Vision:
We are Committed to Sharing, Caring and Growing in the Good News of Jesus Christ
