What’s Happening at the Lamar Public Library - May 15, 2009

The library will have its new webpage ready for patron use by the 20th of May. The webpage is provided by the State Library division and Plinkit. The address for the webpage will be:  lamarlibrary@colibraries.org

The library will be offering downloadable audio books, e-books, music and e-flicks through a new consortium of public libraries; Across Colorado Digital Consortium and Overdrive. Patrons in good standing, will be able to download available materials on to their computer from home. Some items will even allow patrons to burn cds and all audio books can be uploaded to a MP3 or Ipod player. To access this new service, beginning Monday May 18th, patrons will click on the Across Colorado icon and after signing in with their library card number (P XXXXXX) begin to check out materials. At the first visit to the database, patrons will need to download the Media Console software to their computer’s hard drive. This software will also allow patrons to upload any checked out materials to their Ipod or MP3 player.  The library will have three Creative Zen Moziac players for patron checkout.

The Summer Reading Program, Be Creative at the Lamar Public Library, for children 3 years through entering 6th grade began June 8th and runs through July 22nd. Stop by the library and enjoy a program or craft day with your visiting grandchildren or other young visitors. Programs are usually on Mondays at 10:30 and 1:30 and craft days are Wednesdays at 10:30 and 1:30. Stop by the library and check out the calendar or look for the dates on the calendar of our webpage.
