Carol Pierce, winner of the Littleton Fine Arts Committee’s 2007 Own an Original competition, will be exhibiting her art during the Committee’s Own an Original – Best of Show exhibition at the Littleton Historical Museum Fine Arts Gallery Friday, July25 – Sunday, September 28, 2008.

Ms. Pierce's "Headed for Slaw", oil, was selected by the juror, Patricia Aaron.

Patricia Aaron is a respected Denver artist that has exhibited both regionally and nationally during the past 20 years. Ms. Aaron holds a M.F.A. degree from University of Denver School of Art and Art History and a B.S. from University of Maryland, Heidelberg, Germany.

Aaron exhibits her sculpture locally at SPARK Gallery in the Santa Fe Arts District in Denver and Shidoni Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Aaron has also shown in solo exhibitions at The Sandra Phillips Gallery, Curtis Arts and Humanities Center and Studio Aiello in Denver. In addition, Aaron completed public art commissions for Museum of Outdoor Arts in Englewood and for the Tobacco Free Kids Campaign in Washington D.C. Nationally Aaron has exhibited in Florida, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maryland, Washington D.C., Wyoming, Michigan, Iowa, Nebraska and New Mexico.

In 2007 Aaron was awarded an Artist Residency at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, Colorado. In addition, Aaron has also held Artist Residencies at the Santa Fe Art Institute, Santa Fe, New Mexico and Virginia Center for Creative Arts in Sweet Briar, VA.

Aaron continues to teach sculpture classes at University of Denver, University of Colorado at Denver, Regis University, Art Students League of Denver and Arapahoe Community College.

Returning Home Series of five small figurative cast bronze sculptures recalls time spent watching her three young daughters grow and mature into young women. Mustang Sally, the blue jeans sculpture, is currently on exhibit in front of University of Denver School of Art and Art History as a life size bronze.
