Attention All Moms of
Service Men and Women
Welcome! To the Northern Fairfield County, Blue Star Mothers,
(NFC-BSM) CT Chapter 4.We are mothers
and step-mothers who currently have or have had Active Duty and Honorably
Discharged Service men and Women. In
December 2008 we formed a local Chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America.
This is an open invitation to any mother who now has, or has had,
children honorably serving in the military from within the Upper Fairfield
County, CT, Lower Litchfield County, CT or Putnam County, NY area to join a
new, local chapter of Blue Star Mothers of America (BSMA).
The Northern Fairfield County Chapter of Blue Star Mothers
(NFC-BSM) meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Stony Hill Fire
Department, 59 Stony Hill Road, Bethel, at 7:00 PM for socializing and support
immediately followed by a business meeting. Contact us to verify when our next
meeting will be held.Annual dues are
$20.00/year with a monthly good-will donation for refreshments served at the
meeting.
Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. is a nonpartisan, non-political,
nonsectarian, nondiscriminatory and non-profit organization. We do not support
any political candidate, nor do we endorse any religious organization. The
military represents all aspects of America as does our organization. We are a non-profit (501[c]3) service
organization supporting each other and our children while promoting patriotism.
We are there for our children when they deploy. We support them
during their deployment. We are there for them when they come home and beyond
since they never return quite the same.Blue Star Mothers are there for each other as we journey down this
unfamiliar path.
The stars have different meanings -- the blue for hope and pride;
the gold for sacrifice to the cause of liberty and freedom. It is an honor to
serve in our armed forces - an honor to our country, to our principles and to
our faith. It is an honor to be the
mother of a military service man or woman but it also comes with inherent risks
and worries.
The current National President, Susan Naill, describes Blue Star
Mothers as follows: “Blue Star Mothers have tomorrows with their children, but
Gold Star Mothers only have yesterdays,” Naill said.
