Cartoon artist Jerry Craft, the creator of the weekly syndicated cartoon strip, Mama’s Boyz will teach participants to draw along with him by using step-by-step instruction at the Bridgeport Public Library’s Newfield Branch on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. as part of our “B” Green Summer Reading Program.

In addition to drawing, there will also be emphasis placed on the following:

* Finding your passion and making a career of it.

* The importance of trying and taking creative risks.

* Learning from your mistakes.

* Finding your creative voice.

* Education, and how both English and Math are used to make Mama's Boyz successful.

* Choosing friends who will support you.

* How the decisions you make now can have an impact on the rest of your life.

 The Newfield Branch Library is located at 1230 Stratford Avenue, Bridgeport.
