On Saturday June 14, 2008 the newly formed Connecticut Water Trails Program will hold it’s First Annual Connecticut Water Trails Day. The idea behind the event is to celebrate the vibrant and vital role of Connecticut’s Water Trails. We are going to highlight eleven different water trails in the state ranging from Coastal and Whitewater to Flatwater. Each event will be co-sponsored by a current Connecticut Water Trail group, Outdoor Retailer, and Paddling Outfitter. All of the events will start at 10 am at each location. Each event will introduce participants to one of Connecticut’s current water trails have a presentation on paddling, and sponsor a paddling trip. For information about the two events which will be taking place on The Quinnipiac River – for more information contact - qrwa@sbcglobal.netor203-237-2237 or Connecticut River – contact the Connecticut Watershed Council - mhearne@ctriver.orgor 860-704-0057
