California '66/WPKN Benefit featuring The Electric Prunes, LOVE and Sky “Sunlight” Saxon from The Seeds
Light the lava lamp, here comes the concert you’ve been waiting for. The Electric Prunes, LOVE with Johnny Echols and Baby Lemonade and Sky “Sunlight” Saxon from The Seeds turn the clock back to the music of California in 1966. Hear the music that started it all in a one-time “live” show as only the people that created it can present. This is a benefit performance presented by WPKN Radio (WPKN 89.5 FM in Bridgeport, CT & WPKM 88.7 FM in Montauk, NY).
The pairing of these three bands has never happened before. In 2007, The Electric Prunes and Sky “Sunlight” Saxon were the headliners at FuzzFest Northwest in Portland and this past April, Saxon was the featured act at the Austin-based PsychFest. The band LOVE will be comprised of original guitarist Johnny Echols and Baby Lemonade, who was Love founder Arthur Lee's backing band prior to his incarceration, and after his release from prison in 2001 until his death in 2006 making them the most stable line-up of Love in the band's history. So, mark your calendars and get your tickets for California ’66. This is not a tribute or a copy. This is the real thing and may be your last chance. As Tulin says, we're geared up and ready to go with feedback and tremolo set to stun.
