Daphne Dixon Joins AmericanTowns.com to Spearhead New Green Initiatives Website

Fairfield, CT, February 9, 2011 – Daphne Dixon, the founder of Conscious Decisions, has joined Fairfield-based AmericanTowns.com as Director, GreenTowns, it was announced by Theodore Buerger, Chairman, AmericanTowns.com. In this capacity, Dixon will help spearhead the company’s focus on green initiatives and sustainable living in communities across the country.

“Daphne has been working closely with local leaders, businesses and residents to raise awareness and to engage people in green living practices, and her results are impressive,” said Buerger. “Daphne’s dedication to sustainability, her entrepreneurial spirit, and experience in galvanizing grassroots efforts are a perfect match with our company’s foundation in technology and community building.”

Recognizing a growing interest among local residents and businesses for protecting the environment, Dixon founded Conscious Decisions in 2007, to educate people throughout Fairfield County on sustainable and eco-friendly living practices. She initiated the annual Fairfield County Green Faire and the Green Coast Awards, the Green Market Expo in Bridgeport, and she has co-produced Live Green CT! (Norwalk). Dixon is currently the host of Town of Fairfield Green Drinks, co-host of Stamford Green Drinks and Bridgeport Green Drinks, and involved with many other sustainable initiatives. A resident of Fairfield, she has over twenty years of public relations and event planning experience, and completed the University of Connecticut’s Master Gardener Program at the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford. Dixon graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in English and an emphasis on American Studies.
