30th Annual Madison 4th of July parade promises to be a great event with a special focus on “Health and Wellness, Let’s Get Fit”
The Madison Exchange Club’s 30th Annual Independence Day Parade takes place this year on Saturday, July 4 2009. The parade begins at 11 am and winds its way from the Stop and Shop parking lot, through the center of downtown Madison and into the Surf Club.
The parade features approximately 100 community groups, floats, bands, clowns, antique cars, trucks, bicycles and a number of professional performance groups. It has been recognized as one of the best parades in Connecticut. Two new special categories have been added this year. A neighborhood float competition (sign up your neighborhood to enter a float in the competition) and show your pet (a section of the parade will be dedicated to pets on leashes or otherwise controlled).
The theme for this year’s parade is “Heath and Wellness, Let’s Get Fit”, celebrating our proud Madison heritage with a focus on our environment.
Let see some creative floats and ideas to help bring a focus on our environment.
To register your group for a spot in this year’s parade, please contact Mike Catalano at mcatsr@yahoo.com or 203-645-2147 as soon as possible.
