Have you heard about LinkedIn, Facebook  and Twitter and wondered what they are all about? Have you received email invitations to join but been hesitant to say yes? Are you curious as to how others are using them? Do you wonder if they would be of value to you if you knew more?

Come to the July 7th meeting of The Fairfield County Computer Users Group where Ed Fitzgerald will give us an introduction to Social Networking on the Web using LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook and will answer these questions and more. He will explain what they are, how they can be of value and what you can do to get started.

Ed is a marketing and technology specialist who helps businesses market themselves and their products on the Web. His clients include Coldwell Banker, agents in their Westport Riverside office and a number of small businesses. He has a broad background in information technology and had been involved with the Internet since the early days. He is also the President of the Fairfield County Computer Users Group. An informative evening is expected. All are welcome to attend.

Ed Congleton, one of FCUG’s founding father’s, will present July’s Novice Program, showing us in a simplified way, how to use POWERPOINT to prepare presentations and have some fun with the application.

Meetings start with a ‘Novice Topic’ followed by a ‘Q&A’ session where members & guests ask questions about computer-related problems. A refreshment break and the main presentation conclude the meeting. All questions are welcome at our Q&A session and presentations. Bring a friend. Watch your local paper or check www.fcug.org for upcoming topics. Non-members attend free. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month, 7:30 p.m., at the New Canaan Historical Society,

FCUG members come from many FairfieldCounty towns (Norwalk, Darien, Danbury, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Southport, Stamford, Stratford, Trumbull, Wilton, Weston and Westport). Our goal is to share knowledge and enhance enjoyment in the use of personal computers (IBM compatible and Apple) and related software, hardware and Internet technologies. Members range from students to retirees, novices to experts, amateurs to professionals. Some of membership's advantages are: keeping informed through programs and speakers about new technology, problem solving for your technology; meeting others with similar interests; software reviews; Q&A sessions; website, and our outstanding monthly news magazine "The Voice of FCUG". The group provides an excellent learning environment at all levels of ability.
