As a non-profit, professional center for the performing arts, the Garde Arts Center strives to engage, enrich, entertain and inspire the region of greater New London County, by
-protecting, operating and enhancing the historic Garde Theatre and its facilities as a central cultural gathering place,
-presenting top-quality performing arts and film events,
-fostering community arts organizations, and
-strengthening community interaction and vitality in and through the arts.
The Garde is a catalyst for heightened philanthropy, urban reinvestment, and cultural understanding, all critical to the survival of urban regions into the 21st century. As a community-building institution, the Garde provides broad-based programs and services that reconnect the city to the region it serves.
