If you plan to apply to art school, you are already hard at work this fall polishing up your art portfolio. Well, The Aldrich Museum wants to help you! Join us at The Aldrich on November 12 for three hours of drawing. Since schools like RISD have asked for a bike drawing from applicants since way back in the 1950s, it occurred to us that our Bike Rides exhibition—with nearly 25 different bikes on view—would be a perfect place to come find your drawing models. The afternoon will start with some drawing instruction, followed by time to draw in the galleries. Students are welcome to ask for feedback. Only graphite pencil and Conté will be allowed in the galleries—and no cameras, please. If you plan to include this drawing as part of your RISD “home test,” remember the requirement is to use 16 x 20 inch paper and graphite pencil.

Students must provide their own materials. Registration is required. For questions and registration, call 203.438.4519

Museum funding provided, in part, by the Connecticut Commission in Culture & Tourism, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
