Charlotte Hungerford Hospital
The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (the “Hospital”) is a 109 bed, general acute care hospital located in Torrington, Connecticut, serving a 13-town primary service area comprised of approximately 95,000 persons. The Hospital also serves as a regional health care resource for the residents of Litchfield County, situated in Northwestern Connecticut.
The Hospital, located on 120 acres of land, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services including general medicine and surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and psychiatry. Complementing the major clinical divisions are three regional programs in psychiatry, radiation therapy and renal dialysis. The Hospital, a general acute care not-for-profit organization, is a member of the American Hospital Association and the Connecticut Hospital Association, and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the American College of Radiology (ACR), the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and by the American College of American Pathologists (laboratory). The Hospital is governed by an 18-member voluntary Board of Governors, and is licensed by the Connecticut Department of Health and Addiction Services.
Major diagnostic and therapeutic services include laboratory, radiology, including nuclear scanning, computed tomography (CT) scanning, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission testing (PET), and special radiology procedures. CHH also offers physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes education and treatment and a sleep lab.
Affiliate entities include The Center for Cancer Care, Advanced Medical Imaging, Eastern Rehabilitation Network, and The Urology Center of Northwest Connecticut.
