64th Summer Art Exhibition At Wilton Library's

Wilton artists are invited to show at Wilton Library's 64th Summer Art Exhibition

In keeping with a long-standing tradition, Wilton artists are invited to show their paintings, pastels, drawings or sculptures in Wilton Library's 64th annual summer art exhibition which begins Tuesday, July 1st, with an opening reception on Friday, July 11th, from 6 to 7:30 pm.

Artists can submit either one or two entries, dropping them off at the Library on Saturday, June 28th and Monday, June 30th, from 10 am to 4 pm. All artwork must be framed and wired. Entry forms are available at the Library - just ask at the Circulation Desk. All adult Wilton residents are encouraged to submit their work.

According to Wilton Library Art Chairman Ed MacEwen, "The Summer Show is one of the exhibitions that patrons and artists look forward to and can count on each year. Patrons get to see familiar and popular artists returning year after year, side by side with newly exhibited talent. It's always fun to see fresh ideas coming in to this exhibit. Artists appreciate the gallery and wall space throughout the Library where their works seem to thrive."

The Summer Show generally includes the work of from 40 to 50 artists and often more than 60 pieces. The show's diversity of style and subject matter make it a perennial favorite, and crowds flock to the Library to see the work of neighbors and friends. Most of the pieces will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Library's Art Fund (used to purchase art and books and other media on art and art instruction for the circulating collection).

The Summer Show will run through Friday, August. 29th, so be sure not only to bring in your artwork by June 30th, but also to stop by to see how talented our community is!
