The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) presents its popular Free Family Arts Day. Visit AMSET with your family for a Blooming & Bright creative day of art activities!

Hands-on art activities will correlate with AMSET’s current exhibition, Alicia Eggert: All the Light You See on view through July 7, 2024, in the main galleries. This Family Arts Day will be held indoors. Children and their families will create unique artworks including Light Sculptures, Lenticular Prints, Mother’s Day Flowers, Ribbon Collage, and Temporary Tattoos! This helps establish an understanding of, and connection to, the many techniques used to create the artwork in AMSET’s main galleries and permanent collection.

Complimentary punch will be provided. A concession stand serving ballpark-style food will also be available. There will be two dance performances from iRule Dance Studio at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Throughout the day, AMSET will raffle off baskets of art supplies. Visitors are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite ‘Star Wars’ inspired outfit for a costume contest at noon to celebrate ‘May the 4th Be With You’.

Admission to this event is free and open to the public and all materials are provided.
