10:00 am - 5:00 pm : Shop Til You Drop

Put on a pair of comfy shoes and make room in your trunk! Blowing Rock is one of North Carolina’s premier shopping destinations! Shop in Blowing Rock’s quaint downtown boutiques and Tanger Outlet Shoppes on the Parkway. Blowing Rock offers an abundance of shopping possibilities from art galleries to fine antiques, apparel to bookstores, home decor and yard art to locally made provisions, sunglasses to mittens, you can find it all here!

Come to Sunny Rock Egg and Things for a fantastic Pancake Breakfast! $5 for all you can eat of Tim's Outstanding Pancakes served with one side of link sausage or bacon. Dine in only. No Sharing.

Drink wine and create art in a relaxed atmosphere facilitated by trained instructor. Each participant goes home with a finished work of art. All materials, including canvasses, paint, brushes, and aprons, are provided. Beverages and snacks are included in admission. $40 for BRAHM members, $45 for non museum members. Call 828-295-9099 to register.Reservation and payment is required by January 20th. Limited seating available.A full refund will be issued if participant cancels 72 hours prior to the event. For cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the event, BRAHM will issue a refund IF the museum is able to fill the vacated spot. Participants must be over 21 years of age, with valid ID.

10:00 am - 12:00 pm : Polar Plunge at Chetola Resort

Some folks just don’t have good sense! But they do have good hearts! Watch fearless contenders take the Plunge. The Polar Plunge in Chetola Lake is one of the highlights at WinterFest. Chetola starts cutting through the layer of ice well in advance so Plungers can feel the full impact! Agonize with your favorite “Plunger”, most in costume, while enjoying the antics and one liners of our new plunge emcee, John Carter! Judges will award the famous “Golden Plunge” award to the best costumes. Plungers begin jumping at 10:00 am but get there early for good viewing! Proceeds will benefit local charities Western Youth Network and Hospitality House!

Take the "brrrr" out of the chill and come to the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum (BRAHM). On Saturday, Jan 27th, admission to the museum is $2 off! Stop in, warm up, and tour the exhibits. You'll be glad you did!

Brought to you by Mountain Alliance, the Blowing Rock WinterFest Silent Auction & Raffle takes place Saturday 10am-4pm. Prize pick up is later that day. Come to the Blowing Rock American Legion behind the Police Station on Wallingford Street and bid on the many beautiful items, packages, and gift certificates donated by area retailers and businesses. You will find items ranging from lodging at area hotels and inns, spa day packages, packages to area parks, massage and wellness certificates, outdoor adventures, fly fishing lessons, theatre subscriptions, art work by local artists, gift certificates to area restaurants, and many, many more! In addition, buy raffle tickets for baskets of goodies from your favorite shopping stops. Last year we had more than $20,000 worth of items from over 200 businesses, so there is truly something for everyone!

Proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to Mountain Alliance.Mountain Alliance provides Watauga County high school aged youth with a safe and supportive environment in which they can develop an increased sense of self and their place in the community, a passion for lifelong learning, and a commitment to environmental stewardship. Mountain Alliance recognizes these attributes as essential qualities of active and engaged citizens. The organization is a community of high school students, teachers, professionals, outdoor and adventure-based educators, and supportive local leaders and citizens.

12:00 pm - 4:00 pm : Ice Carving Demonstrations

Artisan Ice Sculptures has again joined forces with Blowing Rock WinterFest to bring you the best ice carving event you’ve seen in quite a while – at least since last year! Come by Memorial Park from 10am until 4pm to see what the Artisan Ice team is creating. You’ll be amazed at the creations these guys do. A definite “Must See” event!Be sure to thank The Homestead Inn and Alpine Village Inn for assisting our ice carving team!

12:00 pm - 4:00 pm : WinterFest Beer Garden and Chili Challenge

Join us at the first WinterFest Beer Garden and Restaurant Chili Challenge at the Inn at Ragged Gardens! WinterFest’s motto is “Don’t Hibernate. Celebrate!” and that’s precisely what we’ll be doing at the WinterFest Beer Garden. Local breweries will be sampling their “Hops and Barley Pops” under a tent on the lawn while chili is prepared and eaten. Outside the tent you can compete in Snowball Cornhole and/or Tipsy Tower (like Giant Jenga). Can you think of a better way to Celebrate Winter?!!VIP ticket holders may enter at noon and will receive a grilled bratwurst and ‘cool’ WinterFest cup, while supplies last. Must be 21 or older with picture ID to sample beer.

12:00 pm - 6:00 pm : Wine Tastings at Sunset & Vine

Join us at Sunset & Vine, (formerly Christopher’s Wine & Cheese) as we celebrate winter with a full schedule of wine tastings throughout the day on Saturday. We will be tasting wines from 12pm to 6pm with several different distributors, so stop by the shop to taste what we are pouring.

1:00 pm - 2:30 pm : Arctic Art at BrrrAHM!

Bring your kids to the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum (BRAHM) and create a winter craft in our Education Center! BRAHM staff along with the local Girl Scouts will be doing crafts and kid’s activities to entertain the younger set.

3:00 pm - 5:00 pm : WinterTastings & Auction at The Green Park Inn

Satiate your palate with a tasting of excellent wines and other beverages! The Tasting begins at 3 pm on Saturday; Auction immediately follows at 5 pm. Register for the auction as wine will be only one of the many types of items on the bidding block, including a Savor Blowing Rock Festival Basket with lodging & tickets, and lots more! Starting bids for some items are amazingly low!
