Emerald Rae is an American fiddler and folksinger based now in Nashville. Hailing from the seaside town of Gloucester, Massachusetts, Rae began her musical journey deep in the world of traditional Celtic music. With her 2018 self-titled release, Rae broke the boundaries of fiddle-singing with a wide palate of experimental techniques. With her powerhouse vocals, groovy percussive fiddle, and eclectic songwriting style, she has delighted audiences at folk festivals and concert stages across North America. This powerhouse fiddler won the grand prize at the US Scottish Fiddle Championship at the age of 18. She continued to study music in Glasgow, received a degree from Berklee College of Music, and collaborated with 3 fellow fiddlers in the group, Annalivia. Emerald has made a name for herself as a solo fiddler totally adept not only in Cape Breton and Scottish traditions, but in Irish and old-time as well.
