Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center will offer “Jesus: The Misunderstood Jew” and “Facing The Middle East” programs on Thursday, May 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with Rabbi Andrea Cohen Kiener. The “Jesus: Misunderstood Jew” morning session will review the provocative teachings of Dr. Amy-Jill Levine, a thought leader in Jewish Christian studies. Dr. Levine hopes to help Christians understand more about the “Jewishness of Jesus” and that Jews will be challenged to reclaim the Second Testament of Christian texts as the primary text for the history of the Second Temple period. The “Facing the Middle East” afternoon session will help attendees understand the current Israel/Palestine conflict and offer a respectful, safe space to address questions and concerns.
