The Academy of The Company Theatre (A.C.T.) Teen Conservatory presents Cole Porter’s musical theatre classic Anything Goes (Beaumont 1987 version) at The Company Theatre Center for the Arts. Matinee and evening performances are available. The production is directed by Jordie Saucerman with music direction by Melissa Carubia and choreography by Sally Forrest.
Music, dance, laughs, and the age-old tale of “boy meets girl” - Anything Goes is a hilarious shipboard romp, wrapped around one of Cole Porter’s most magical scores. The S.S. American is sailing a comically colorful assemblage of passengers between New York and England. Reno Sweeney, a popular nightclub singer and former evangelist, and her pal Billy Crocker, a lovelorn Wall Street broker have come aboard to attempt to win the favor of his beloved Hope Harcourt. Unbeknownst to the daring duo, Harcourt is engaged to passenger, Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, and second-rate conman Moonface Martin, known as Public Enemy 13. Song, dance, and farcical antics ensue as Reno and Moonface try to help Billy win the love of his life. It’s Delightful, Delicious, and De-Lovely!
A.C.T. was founded in 1987 by Zoe Bradford, Michael Joseph and Jordie Saucerman, with a mission to discover the creative spirit in each child in an enjoyable and challenging atmosphere and to build self-confidence through the experience of the arts.
Tickets: $18 for students, $20 for adults.
