Fort Walton Beach – The Fort Walton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Board of Commissioners invites the public to join them for the first of several walking tours. On this first tour, commissioners will concentrate on the downtown/Main Street area of the Fort Walton Beach CRA. Anyone wishing to participate in the tour should meet at the municipal parking lot on Ferry Road at 5:25 p.m. The tour will be approximately three-quarters of a mile long.

The objective of this tour is to view the downtown/Main Street portion of the CRA and identify areas that have been improved, areas that need attention, and generate suggestions and ideas for mitigating blight and underdevelopment. Commissioners plan to accomplish this by communicating with residents and business merchants in the area during the tour.

Future tours will be announced as they are scheduled. Reasonable accommodations can be made to facilitate anyone who requires special needs if advance notification is provided. For more information, contact Principal Planner Christy Johnson, AICP, at 850-833-9697.

Date: Thursday, July 16th, 2009.

Time: 5:30 p.m.
