Alachua County, FL - Alachua County Public Works invites citizens to a public meeting to get information about an upcoming rehabilitation project along NW 16th Ave. The meeting is in the Westwood Middle School Media Center (3215 NW 15th Ave, Gainesville).

The project scope includes the resurfacing and rehabilitation of the existing pavement, upgrading the existing pedestrian facilities to meet current ADA requirements, addressing safety and operational issues through intersection and median opening modifications, and stabilizing the retaining walls along NW 16th Ave.  The project length is 4.0 miles.  The resurfacing of the intersection of NW 34th Street and NW 16th Avenue is excluded from the project, as it was recently resurfaced by the Florida Department of Transportation.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information regarding the upcoming project to interested residents, property owners and business owners along the corridor.  This will be an open house format with display boards and knowledgeable staff on hand to answer questions. A Powerpoint presentation will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Comment cards will be provided at the meeting.
