Industry Executive Announces Wellington Homes With Innovative Marketing Campaign

category:Business and Professional posted:August 3rd, 2009
Jacksonville, FL – Seasoned homebuilding executive Richard J. Dalton announces the opening of Wellington Homes, a new Jacksonville, Fla.-based homebuilding company. Dalton is well-known in the industry for his leadership skills at companies such as Taylor Morrison and Pulte Homes, but many also know him for his charitable giving and philanthropic endeavors. It may then come as no surprise that Dalton is launching his new company as title sponsor to one of Jacksonville’s most well-known charity events – the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Tango by Moonlight.

“I am excited beyond belief to introduce Wellington Homes to the Northeast Florida market and build well-priced, quality constructed homes for a diverse range of homebuyers,” Dalton said. “When we founded the company, I wanted to introduce it in an innovative way and connect not only with homebuyers but the Jacksonville community at large. That’s why we have decided to announce the company by title sponsoring a charitable event that is very close to my heart.”

Dalton has signed on as the title sponsor of Tango by Moonlight, formally known as Moonlight Martinis, which will take place Nov. 7 at The Carling in downtown Jacksonville. Dalton has long been a supporter of the foundation and believes sponsoring the event is an innovative and charitable way to introduce Wellington Homes to Northeast Florida.

“I am just as passionate about giving back to this community as I am about building homes in it,” Dalton said. “I have been involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for many years and I truly believe in what they do for the Jacksonville community and those who are affected by cystic fibrosis.”

Claudia Werner, executive director for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s North Florida chapter, is honored that Dalton has chosen the foundation as a venue through which he will introduce his company to the community.

“We have worked with Rick for years and he has consistently been one of our most loyal supporters,” Werner said. “In addition to being a kind and generous person, he is an innovative businessman and is exemplifying that by introducing his company in this imaginative fashion.”

Dalton founded Wellington Homes after a celebrated career with some of the nation’s leading homebuilders. Prior to founding Wellington Homes, Dalton served as the division president for Taylor Morrison North Florida and the vice president of operations for the

Jacksonville division of Pulte Homes Corporation. Dalton has teamed with former colleague Dale Dubberly and named him the executive vice president and chief operating officer of

Wellington Homes. Dubberly worked with Dalton at Taylor Morrison and Pulte Homes

Corporation as the vice president of construction for both companies’ North Florida divisions. Together, Dalton and Dubberly have more than 50 years experience in the homebuilding industry.

“It is true we are starting a new homebuilding company in an interesting market, but unlike many others in the industry, we have minimal debt and low overhead, which makes us unique and appealing to lenders and homebuyers,” Dalton said. “I am encouraged by the business we have secured thus far, and I genuinely look forward to creating homes in this region for decades to come.”

Wellington Homes is a Jacksonville, Fla.-based homebuilder and part of Wellington Companies, a homebuilding and development firm that also includes remodeling, commercial, and land development divisions. Dalton uses his veteran experience as an executive with some of the nation’s leading homebuilders to create architecturally diverse homes in the greater Jacksonville area, including Ponte Vedra and the Beaches. Catering to its customers’ every need, Wellington Homes can build on a customer’s homesite, in Northeast Florida single-family communities, or on one of Wellington Homes’ select homesites.
