Fisheries Management, Fish Preparation and Outboard Motor Classes Offered

MELBOURNE,FL---Fisheries management, fish preparation and outboard motor classes will be offered this month by the University of Florida Brevard County Extension Service’s marine agent Eddie Leonard.

“Current Topics in Fisheries Management” informs participants about the science behind current fisheries topics and pending regulations. This class will be held on Thursday, August 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Eau Gallie Library, 1521 Pineapple Avenue in Melbourne. The cost to attend is $5.

“Fish: From Cooler to Table” will teach participants how to properly clean, fillet and prepare fish. Food safety, proper storage, nutrition and simple recipes will be discussed. The class will be held on Saturday, August 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cocoa Extension Office. The cost to attend is $25.

“Basic Outboard Technology” will cover the basic engine types, pros and cons of each, and a few simple maintenance tips. The class will be held on Thursday, August 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cocoa Extension Office. The cost to attend is $5.
