Shadowlawn Elementary School is hosting a Vocabulary Hat Parade beginning at 8:20 a.m. at the school located at 2161 Shadowlawn Drive. All Pre-Kindergarten thru 5th grade students will be parading around campus wearing hats they created themselves that represent a vocabulary word.

For the parade, each grade level has chosen a different word that correlates with their curriculum like nouns, compound words, and science and math vocabulary. Students brainstormed their hat ideas during media classes, with actual construction taking place back in their own classrooms.

The event reinforces grade level targets and gives students the opportunity to share their vocabulary knowledge with other students. The event also promotes parental involvement, with families being invited so that students can share their hats with the entire Shadowlawn community.

Date and Time: October 30, 2009 at 8:20 a.m.

Venue:
Shadowlawn Elementary School,
2161 Shadowlawn Drive,
Naples, FL 34112.
