Jazz Society Board President Roger Villines and Byron Clark, proprietor of Jambalaya’s Grill and Oyster Bar are pleased to announce that the first-Monday Jazz Jam will be held at Jambalaya’s restaurant inside the Quality Inn and Suites in Gulf Breeze, near the foot of the 3-mile bridge.

Byron Clark, restaurant owner and the Jazz Society hope that this will be a good match for both. There is a five-dollar charge for admission to the session.  Performing musicians are welcome without charge.  Clark announces that there will be full menu dining service and a well-stocked bar serving beer, wine and mixed drinks.

Roger Villines, JSOP Board President and director of the PJC Jazz Band said, “Recently we have had a number of younger players join our established group of musicians.  This is a welcome opportunity for younger players to gain experience and exposure to the jazz community.  A Jazz Jam is exciting for both the performers and the audience.  There are often musical surprises—the good kind—for the listeners, and sometimes, also for the players.  The Jazz Jam offers a different experience from our regular third-Monday Jazz Gumbo events at Seville Quarter. The Jazz Gumbo events feature an established band performing a set musical program.  The Jazz Jam is a more free-wheeling experience.  We invite our patrons to sample both events.”
