St. Cloud, Fla. – The City of St. Cloud Fire Rescue department now has a unique work of art displayed at Fire Station #31. Local artist Jason Cullison presented Fire Chief Charlie Lewis and his staff with an original painting May 13 at Fire Station #31.

Cullison, a self-taught painter who works mainly in acrylics on canvas, is no stranger to Fire Rescue personnel. Fourteen years ago, Lewis approached the St. Cloud High School art teacher and asked for assistance in the creation of a new Fire Rescue logo/patch. The art teacher immediately said he had a very talented student in his class who would be perfect for this task – Cullison.

“I have always been so thankful for the opportunity and pleased with my work on this logo; I still talk about it,” said Cullison, a full-time artist who has traveled extensively, but still lives in Central Florida. “I wanted to donate something special for their newest facility because of my appreciation for the opportunity and especially for the work they do.”

Cullison named the painting “Fire” and it is now displayed in the lobby of Fire Station #31.

“This is a wonderful expression of thanks from Jason,” said Lewis. “But, we have actually been thankful to him for all these years for his dedication in creating a logo/patch for us all to wear on our uniforms and display on our vehicles with pride. We are truly honored to display his newest gift in our newest facility. He is definitely a part of our team.”
