History:
Havana
Restaurant is a family business, created and run by Roberto Reyes, his daughter
Martha, and her husband Rafael Perez. Since 1993, Havana has
been committed to providing the Palm Beaches, with the most authentic Cuban
food experience in the area. Roberto and his family know the difference. Born
in Cuba,
Roberto served in the Cuban Navy until the arrival of Castro in 1959, and then
immigrated to the U.S. in
1960. Over the years, he worked his way up the business ladder, to the Vice
President of a chain store. His love for food eventually led him to open his
own businesses, including a full service restaurant in Puerto
Rico and a successful ice cream shop in Miami. Then
Came Hurricane Andrew!
With
their homes and business devastated by the storm, the Reyes and Perez families
decided to pack up and head north to West
Palm Beach. Once there, they found that
they missed the lively 24 hour Cuban eateries they had grown accustomed to in Miami. That
would be their new business! With hard work, dedication and of course, a
lifetime of traditional Cuban recipes, Havana became
and is, a true star in West Palm Beach.
Along
with providing the best Cuban food in town, Havana
believes in giving back to the community. You’ll find them supporting groups
and events such as the Young Friends of the Kravis Center’s “Reach for the
Stars,” CAPS, The American Cancer Society, The Heart Association, numerous
churches, schools and so much more. They belong to the West
Palm Beach and Palms West Chambers of
Commerce, The Hispanic Chamber and Resources Council and serve on numerous
boards and committees. Their compassion, commitment and dedication to the
community can only be rivaled by their continuous pursuit of extraordinary cuisine.
The
Palm Beach Post and Sun Sentinel, along with numerous other magazines and
periodicals, have called Havana tops
many years running. Havana even
has even received rave reviews from critics and writers with Southern Living
Magazine, Martha Stewart and the Wall Street Journal. You owe it to yourself to
experience the magic of Havana today
