Our Summer Improv Camp, created by veteran Whole World Theatre Improv
Actor, Emily Reily Russell and directed by our finest Main Stage
Performers, is designed to bring out the humor in all children while
promoting focus and confidence. Our program will develop and advance
your child's natural acting ability; while enhancing memory and
listening skills through improvisational techniques and games. Most
importantly, the camp promotes and celebrates each child's sense of
humor, individuality, and creativity.
Our Kids Summer Improv Camp is open to all children 8-13 years of age
(7 year olds considered on an individual basis based on experience,
grade level and maturity). In each weekly session students will learn,
and actively participate in, Whole World's philosophy of theatre and
acting. That is: being focused and present on stage through self
awareness and trust; inspiration from partners; and the elimination of
fear through the "no judgment" method practiced by Whole World's
instructors, students, and performers alike.
Each day will begin with relaxation and focus exercises; then will move
on to connection exercises, and scene and character study. Once we have
developed good acting from within the improvisational scene work, we
will learn and practice many fun improvisational games. On the last day
of camp, parent's are invited to join us in the audience as we show off
what we've learned over the week with a full fledged Improv Show!
