This vibrant film from debut director Aarón Fernández is noteworthy for its realism, humanity, and superb performances. It is set in Mexico City and centers on 14-year-old Ivan, whose uncle Jaime runs a shady car-parts business. When Jaime pressures his nephew into pulling his own weight, Ivan learns how to strip cars like a pro and soon enlists his best friend's help. The boys get a charge out of their crimes and welcome the extra money, though most of Ivan's earnings are reserved to pay the coyote who's promised Jaime safe passage for the two of them to the U.S. Then Ivan finds that plans have changed, and he sheds the last remnants of childhood, facing the future with only his street smarts and will to survive...Opera Prima award at the 2007 Guadalajara International Film Festival.

La historia se centra en Iván, un joven de 14 años que tiene como tío a Jaime, quien administra un dudoso lugar de repuestos para autos en Ciudad de México. Cuando Jaime presiona a su sobrino para que obtenga sus propios ingresos, Iván aprende a desmantelar autos como todo un profesional y en poco tiempo alista a un amigo para que le ayude. La mayoría del dinero procedente de los robos — que entusiasma a los dos jóvenes — queda reservado para pagar al coyote que prometió transportar a Jaime e Iván hacia EE.UU. De repente, Iván descubre que los planes han cambiado, que debe deshacerse de los últimos vestigios de su niñez y que tiene que enfrentar al incierto futuro con lo que ha aprendido en la calle.
