About Saint John Lutheran Church

We are called by the Holy Spirit to equip saints and proclaim God's love in Jesus Christ to all people.

Saint John Lutheran Church has served the Griffin community for over 30 years. The congregation was organized on June 6, 1977, and the building was dedicated on June 8, 1980. A picnic area, an outdoor chapel and a labyrinth are open to the public.

Saint John is one of the 174 congregations in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee that make up the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We are in partnership with the 11,000 congregations, 28 Lutheran colleges and universities, 8 seminaries, 350 world-wide missionaries, Lutheran Social Services of America and Lutheran World Relief; all ministries of the 4.8 million member ELCA.
