Free-spirited, independent and gregarious, Georgia folk artist Nellie Mae Rowe  devoted her life to creativity using an intuitive sense of color and form. Her paintings originate in everyday memories, a family event or even dreams. The characterizations of adults, children, dogs and birds are colorfully related with exuberance and passion.

The paintings presented here come from the Folk Art Collection of the High Museum in Atlanta. While these works may at first appear to be simplistic, they are colorful, imaginative and full of creative joy. By popular demand, this exhibit has been extended through July 5, 2009!

When: January 24 to July 5, 2009

Hours:Tuesday - Saturday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Last Friday of the Month: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
