Clayton County Library System - Riverdale Branch
In 1967, construction began on the first Riverdale Library-- formally called the Northwest Branch Library. The library, located on SR 85, just south of the Upper Riverdale Road intersection, was the third public library built in Clayton County. Riverdale's first library was opened to the public in 1968. By 1994, a project began to build a new Riverdale branch. Groundbreaking took place in late fall 1996. The new Riverdale Library, at its current location on Valley Hill Road, opened in January 1998.
