One Child, One Laptop, Endless Possibilities!

It’s a simple, yet profound concept: giving two billion kids in developing nations laptop computers – then watching them change the world.

The One Laptop Per Child Foundation was born in 2002 after MIT Professor Nicholas Negroponte saw how computers transformed the lives of poor children in a remote Cambodian village. Negroponte reasoned that if every underpriveleged child had a connected laptop, they’d also have access to education, ideas, and a window on the outside world.

OLPC’s mission is to provide specially-created XO laptops to kids in developing countries. The return on the investment? A new generation of educated, empowered kids with the tools to solve almost any of society’s problems.

You can be part of this extraordinary vision through a special promotion: the Give One Get One program. During Give One Get One, you can donate the revolutionary XO laptop to a child in a developing nation and receive one for a child in your life (you can also donate laptops via their Simply Give and Give Many options).

The Give One Get One program runs through the Dec. 31 – and is a great way to start 2008 by giving the world’s kids the power to change the world!
