Leland Miyano: Historia Naturalia et Artificialia
Catherine E.B. Cox Award exhibition
Organized by the Honolulu Academy of Arts
Commissioned site-specific installations by Honolulu artist and landscape designer Leland Miyano. The protégé of Brazillian Alandscape designer Roberto Burle Marx, Miyano’s sculptures and installations reflect cycles of regenerations in nature and environmental issues.
Catharine E.B. Cox Award for Excellence in the Visual Arts :
The Catharine E.B. Cox Award is given biennially to former or current Hawai‘i residents and grants the recipient a one-person exhibition at the Academy. They are selected on the basis of their demonstrated talent and promise, with first consideration given to emerging visual artists working in any media.
