Songs Of Memory: Music And Ceremony Of Highland Southeast Asia

An American musician living in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Victoria Vorreiter, has created a superb exhibition featuring six principle ethnic communities of Northern Thailand: Karen, Lisu, Lahu, Akha, Hmong, and Mien  The exhibit focuses on music and ceremony, and includes a plethora of instruments, costumes, jewelry, ceremonial objects, photographs, and excellent video recordings.  The festive activities during the opening week will include performers from the Karen and Akha communities.
