Hope Chapel Church
Hope Chapel's Mission Statement:
Although many Bible passages describe what the church is to be and do, two statements by Jesus summarize it all:
The Great Commandment:
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment and the second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
The Great Commission:
Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.
These two passages summarize everything we do at Hope Chapel. Together they give us the primary tasks the church is to focus on. Every activity and program fulfills at least one of the five purposes for why we exist:
Worship:
We exist to love God. But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
Outreach:
We exist to tell others about Jesus Christ.
Go into all the world and preach the gospel of Christ to all creation.
Discipleship:
We exist to teach God's Word. Preach the Word of God urgently at all times. Correct and rebuke your people when they need it, encourage them to do right, and all the time be feeding them patiently with God's Word.
Fellowship:
We exist to love others. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
Service:
We exist to serve God. You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.
