Two high school students from rival cliques: Troy Bolton, captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella Montez, a shy transfer student who excels in math and science, try out for the lead parts in their high school musical, and divide the school.
Despite the other students' attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella resist peer pressure and rivalry, inspiring others not to "stick with the status quo!" With all the songs from the Disney Channel movie plus two new numbers, High School Musical has more raw energy and fun than a winning-season pep rally!
