New Sharon First Christian Church

Our Motto at New Sharon First Christian Church is "Until the Whole World Knows". It is our desire to see the message of the Gospel go forth throughout the whole earth so that all have the opportunity to hear this message of hope.

First Christian Church is a vibrant, growing group of believers in small town Iowa. We have been worshiping together as a congregation since 1877. There has been a new wave of excitement in recent years, as God has brought many new converts and worshipers into our church family.

Our worship is a blend of traditional and contemporary, and the Word of God is central to everything we do. We endeavor to minister Christ to every age group through our various classes and activities.

The last few years have brought many changes to NsFCC. The solid growth has necessitated a new worship center, which is now in the planning stages. Also, after 126 years of affiliation with the Disciples of Christ, we have determined that the leaders of our denomination do not share our stance on Scriptural authority and salvation in Jesus Christ alone. Consequently we have recently severed that long-standing relationship and have become an Independent Christian Church, holding securely to the scriptural basis of our founders.
