Living Word Church

About Us:
Living Word was started in 1996 with a home Bible study led by Pastor Michael Kohl. The dream was to start a church in Kootenai County that would be characterized by sound Bible teaching, evangelism, missions and the strengthening of families. Carrying their vision with them to the Athol Community Center and then to the Spirit Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church, God then providentially provided ten acres to build a new church home in the Rocky Mountain Ranch development of Athol. Finished in early 2000, we now meet at 28177 Clagstone Road in Athol. We are currently in the planning stages of expanding our facilities as we are beginning to reach our capacity of 100 people on a regular basis.

You will note that we have a relaxed and easy-going style, and a strong body fellowship. As a church, we want to be the kind of people who make others feel at home. We want to live out the Biblical view that the church is more a family than an organization. We hope you sense God’s presence and love when you visit. The purpose of music and worship at Living Word is to glorify God through a careful blending of sacred, traditional and contemporary styles which are Christ-centered, rich in content, and excellent in presentation.
