A New Look, More Info, New Ways to Share on our new Marsing Community Site!
category:Arts and Entertainment posted:February 29th, 2008Welcome to Marsing's new "shared community webspace", at AmericanTowns.com! Not just a fresh new look, but a whole host of new features and resources neatly organized – so you can easily find and share the local info that’s most important to your daily life. For example:
* Quickly grab new maps, directions, traffic, wi-fi locations and other “on the go” information.
* Check out the latest local news stories and tomorrow's weather when you want to – instead of waiting for and sitting through the 10 pm news.
* Find fun things to do - from local family activities for every season to shopping, restaurants, movies.
* Check out the local real estate market – from “whose house is for sale for how much?” (or “what did that house sell for?”), to a more serious analysis of local housing trends, which brokers get top ranking, and how does Marsing stack up to its neighbors.
* Get great tips for managing your money, gardening, planning a remodeling project and more.
All this at AmericanTowns.com. Plus you can use the site to give your group or organization a higher profile in town with our simple tools for sharing events and news, and posting press releases (to this site and to local newspapers) - so spread the word about what's good in Marsing.
And take a look around. Tell us what you would like us to add (or remove, or re-organize – just email marsingid@americantowns.com). We've built the framework and organized lots of useful local information for Marsing. But you know Marsing better than we do, so make sure we haven't left somebody out.
And, if you like what we've started, share this site with your friends and neighbors. That's what community is all about.

posted:05/22/08This is a great new site for the community. Apex is really starting to grow, which is going to be wonderful.
I saw something interesting at The Town Council Meeting on Tuesday June 17, the Apex Police will be moving temporarily (approximately two years) into trailers in the community parking lot while renovations to the police station are made. Mr. Joe Foresta proposed that the city purchase part of his newly acquired Wachovia Bank property so that the city can expand its parking area during that time, while also creating more area for development of downtown business. It seems that Mr. Foresta's proposal is the most positive way to carry out continued growth downtown, and we as a community should not expect Mr. Foresta to furnish parking on his property, when the city has ample parking for everyone. If the city is going to block all of the civic parking by moving the police station there, who has the responsibility of providing parking to help stabilize the commerce that we all hope to see grow downtown?
